More Game Details:
As the name of the game says, you will play the role of Senua. The game is divided into two types of gameplay. The first type allows Senua to freely walk and interact with the surroundings. These two types focuse on stories via voice over as you travel from one place to another. They also focuse on puzzles and different challenges that help you progress in the game. You have a special capacity, “focus”, that allows you to see things from a different perspective than other people due to your condition and to trigger the events that are puzzle related. For example, if you use this “focus” power on a totem hidden that you find throughout the game, it will trigger a memory of your friend Druth via voice over and you will remind how he told you about the story of the Norsemen. There are a total of 44 triggers. If you activate all of them throughout the game, you will receive a bonus consisting of a cutscene before the game’s climax.
Furthermore, Hellblade has some special features. It has fights, in which you, Senua, will have to defeat one or more beings, some of which might be bosses, that block you in your progress. Two kind of attacks can be used: quick or heavy. These attacks help you to kick your enemy before they get a chance to block your action. The “focus” ability can also be used on fights, helping you to move faster or dissipate the shadows that some of your enemies are made of. You have to be careful in this game, because each and every hit affects you. If you suffer several hits, or a heavy one, you fall on the ground. If you can’t get back in time, you die.
